#8Sunday Weekend Writing Warriors Excerpt #48

The Weekend Writing Warriors is an awesome site that allows writers to share their 8 to 10 sentence excerpts, published or unpublished, to the blogosphere. If you’d like to join or would like to read wonderful talent, please visit the WeWriWa website on Sunday, 5/10 http://wewriwa.blogspot.com.

I’m sharing my work-in-progress of a serial killer torturing a college campus with urban legends.

Here’s my excerpt:

…“Get your shit together. Stop partying hardcore if you can’t handle your liquor. I’m tired of smelling your nasty puke all the time. Clean your got damn mess up.”

When the footsteps faded away, he smiled in relief, especially when a door slammed. Rushing, he took a container of blood out of the duffel bag. With a paintbrush, he wrote on the mirror.

My heart skipped ten thousand beats a minute, anticipating if I’d get caught dragging my duffel bag down the hall. Just think, I’m the only one who has the video of what happened tonight. When everyone wakes up, it’ll truly be a mystery.

Keep smiling,

Yawatta Hosby

  1. lol–wow. I keep thinking he can’t get any worse…and then he does!

Yawatta, I didn’t see your name on the linky list. Must be the reason there’s so few comments. Sorry I didn’t catch it until just now. I only stopped by to leave this info:
We just relaxed the rules on wewriwa. I wrote about it on my 8sunday post this week. Participants will no longer have to change punctuation or write run-on sentences to stay within wewriwa guidelines.

    • Hi Teresa,

Thanks for letting me know. The computer I had used was acting up. I should have double-checked to make sure my request went through. Sorry.

I’ll go check out your WeWriWa post. Cool beans about the new changes 🙂

      Keep smiling,
      Yawatta Hosby
