I had fun writing my horror novella, Urban Legends (working title). A serial killer terrorizes a group of college students with urban legends, killing them one by one. In honor of Women In Horror Month, I was a guest on Priscilla Bettis’s blog–The making of a horror novelist. If you would like to see the nine urban legends that inspired my horror scenes, then please click on the link: Guest Post: How Urban Legends Shaped My Newest Story by Yawatta Hosby.
What’s your favorite urban legend? Mine is Bloody Mary. To this day, I refuse to say her name five times while looking in a mirror. No siree.

I love the sound of your novella. Can’t wait to read it. I am fascinated by urban legends.
Thanks, Iseult. I’m very fascinated by urban legends too. I’m surprised I haven’t written a story about them sooner.

Oh my gosh! What a blast from the past… Bloody Mary! This brought back memories of sleepovers and scary stories we would tell. I don’t think I was brave enough to hold the candle in front of the mirror and chant her name. I do remember some of the other girls doing it though.
Thanks for the memories!
Hi Sue,
Sounds like you had some fun slumber parties. The most we ever did at the ones I attended was play with barbie dolls and watch PG-13 movies haha.
Keep smiling,
