My February Goals #writerslife #amwriting

Hola. I can’t believe it’s already February! Where does time go???

My February goals:

  1. Celebrate Women In Horror Month
  2. Celebrate Black History Month
  3. Revise my urban legends novella whenever I get feedback (patiently waiting!)
  4. Spend a weekend creating my own writer/artist retreat
  5. Look for opportunities to guest blog or submit to anthologies
  6. Read more to keep up with NetGalley and Ginger Nuts of Horror  book reviews
  7. Share my art on social media

What are your goals for the month of February?

Keep smiling,

  1. I want to do my own weekend creative retreat, too. I just have to think up some ideas and figure how to do it on the cheap.:-) Are you doing it in February with either a Women in Horror or Black History month theme?

Good luck with your February goals!

    • Hi Priscilla,

I’m doing a weekend with Airbnb. My hosts don’t live there, so I’ll have the place to myself. I’m testing the waters of peace and quiet before committing to a full vacation week 🙂 I live in Martinsburg, so I found cheap places. You may want to check Airbnb out in your area. At first I had looked at bed and breakfasts, but there was no way I could afford those. The cheapest was $176 a night. Yeah, I picked a weekend in February. Will be working on my comic and novella. Hopefully, I’ll have feedback from my beta-readers by then. If not, then I’ll work on a new project…

      Keep smiling,

  2. Good luck with your goals this month!
You are not the only one wondering how it is February already!
An author contacted me yesterday about an interview I had asked her to do for my blog, and she said she hadn’t realised we we already in February!
February is the shortest month, but always the one with the most activity for me.
This year my husband and I are hoping to downsize, now it is just the two of us and the cat.
He has been looking around the house and thinking everything needs a bit of a clean and tidy-up. So, he is making long-overdue repairs and decorating rooms, replacing carpet, and helping to recycle things we no longer need. Today I am tasked with painting a small room, after my morning walk.
    My February goals are:

    1. To walk 4 miles at least 3 days per week
    2. To thoroughly clean the house after all the redecoration
    3. To finish & review my Book Club read, Esi Edugyan’s Washington Black
    4. To finish & review 2 books from my #DecTheShelves purchases
    5. To read the outstanding books on my Netgalley shelf
    6. To support other indie authors as best I can

My 2020 goals also include writing a short story and creating a game, meme or regular feature for my blog, but I think I have enough to contend with at the moment, and February is a short month…

    • Wow, your goals are impressive, Deborah. I wish I had that energy. I’ll start walking again when spring comes. It’s too cold now, even though today and yesterday were in the 60’s. How is that possible when it’s winter???

Good luck writing your short story. A game or regular feature sounds fun for your blog. Have any ideas? Will it be reader or writer related? You’re right–don’t stress about it. That can wait until March or later.

      Keep smiling,
