Here’s my excerpt:
They hadn’t seen each other or talked on the phone since the executive meeting.
Would he avoid her, could he even look at her, how would her Hollywood family treat her? Naturally, they’d probably pick sides; who was she kidding–they’d definitely pick sides. Of course, they’d be around Perry most of the time, especially if he acted like a wounded puppy.
Echo, she didn’t even get to say good-bye or even got a say in what kennel he’d be staying in. No matter what happened between Sequoia and Perry, they’d have to come to terms that they were parents to Echo. They’d have to plan a visitation schedule. Even though she was in the wrong, she wasn’t willing to give up on their dog that easily.

Powerful inner thoughts. She’s one tough cookie and her concern is for her pet. Terrific,
Thank you, Charmaine!

Awww, I feel sorry for the dog! Yet another highly realistic conflict you’ve woven into this story – well done – Great 8!
Thanks Veronica! I’ve never owned a pet (even as a child) so I’m making stuff up as I go. I think of how attached my cousins are to their dog.

I’m with her. I wouldn’t give up on my dog either.

Hey Joyce,
Yeah I feel ya. To be honest, I don’t know what I’d do.

It’s always hard dividing your stuff after a break-up – especially when that “stuff” is living. Great snippet.
Hey ED,
I know, right. I couldn’t even imagine having to share custody with an ex…

Yeah, very powerful stuff. I can really feel her love for the dog, and I think it’s interesting that she’s thinking in terms of compromise–I guess she isn’t empowered enough to think she can get sole custody perhaps? Thanks for sharing, great to meet you.
Hey KelworthFiles,
It’s nice to meet you too. Thanks for liking my snippet. I never even thought of sole custody of a dog. That could add even more tension (if Perry keeps Echo from Sequoia). Much to think about 🙂

Things are gonna get sticky. It is always hard when there’s a break up especially when you have common friends between the two. 😦
Hey Meka,
Yes, things will get sticky. Good for readers. Bad for the characters. 🙂

Pet custody….so hard!
Hey Nicolette,
I’m using my imagination and observing how much my cousins care for their dog for this one. I’ve never been an animal person. Shush, don’t tell anyone LOL.
